Walk the Trail through Yale and Beyond Friday, October 10

Walk the Trail through Yale and Beyond

Hosted by the Farmington Canal Rail-to-Trail Association, New Haven Friends of the Farmington Canal Greenway, Urban Resources Initiative's GreenSkills Program, Being Well at Yale, and the Yale College Environmental Studies Major.

 Friday, October 10 | 1:00 pm-2:00 pm | Farmington Canal Heritage Trail

In conjunction with Yale University’s “Celebrate Sustainability Week” October 6-10th 2014, we have organized a Walk along the Farmington Canal Heritage Trail, in the portion that connects the university to the town. Learn about the historic trail and the local neighborhoods it inhabits, connecting “town with gown.” If you wish, we will distribute trash bags to pick up litter on the way. Meet on the Canal between Sachem Street and the Yale Health Center at 12:45 PM. The walk will leave promptly at 1:00 PM. All walkers will receive a free map of the trail, which goes 85 miles to Northampton, MA. Round trip distance is about 2.2 miles.
