Learn about the history of the former canal and rail line at the Lock Keeper's House in Hamden.  The site of Lock 14 on the 19th century canal is across from the house.  Interpretive displays are on view, and members of the trail association will be on hand to answer questions about the trail and hand out maps and bike bells.  Stop by as you walk, jog, bike or blade the paved trail, which extends 9 miles south into New Haven or 5 miles north into Cheshire.

Location: 3/4 miles north of Todd Street parking lot and trail access point, or across from the Sleeping Giant Country Club golf driving range, near Aunt Chilada's Restaurant just west of Whitney Ave/Route 10 in Hamden.  

House is about 2-300 yards north of Sergio's Pizza (3860 Whitney Ave, Hamden) set well back from Whitney. Grassy car parking lot off Whitney, or stop on the trail.  House is about 200 yards south of Shepard Ave crossing.
